Excel Corrugated Steel Tape (CST) OM3 50/125μm armoured loose tube optical fibre cables are specifically designed for applications that require high mechanical protection. These compact, lightweight cables are extremely rugged, offering rodent resistance and ensuring quick and easy installation. The cables are constructed around a silica gel-filled tube containing up to 24 colour-coded 250μm buffered fibres, reinforced with E-glass strength members for added durability. The print legend on the cable includes information about the DOP number, test, and classification for traceability. The CST cables are engineered for direct burial applications, with a sand backfill required for proper installation. They are also duct grade, rodent-resistant, and UV resistant, making them ideal for outdoor installations. The cables are sequentially metre marked for convenience during installation. These cables meet Euroclass Eca fire safety standards and have a CIBSE TM65 Embodied Carbon value of 0.623 kg CO2e, supporting sustainability objectives.
